Chalice
Chalice Corals
Often seen in the shape of a cup, chalice corals grow thin and flat
with many bumps and eyes, sometimes in a plating fashion, and sometimes
encrusting. Though they come into stores lacking much color, these
corals will turn into just about any color of the rainbow. This makes purchasing chalices difficult, one needs a keen eye to speculate what a chalice will look like as it changes under reef conditions.
As a chalice colors up the value increases to 100's of dollars per inch. Coral Outlet offers chalices that are direct from oversea connections and have not had the opportunity to reach their color forms. This gives the hobbyist with a keen eye an advantage due to the low prices of our chalices.
The corals for sale in this section are full colonies, not frags. The
egg crate visible in our pictures measures 2 inches for every 3
squares. This will help visualize the actual size of the coral.
